I went to my dentist today about a wisdom tooth, which I had a filling in for over forty years. I now have another cavity in the wisdom tooth, He was going to put a filling in, but even after he froze it I changed my mind. He said it would be a tough one to pull. I dont have crowns right beside it. I just cant see having a filling put in an old wisdom tooth with an old probably mercury filling. I am also a gagger and overweight, I asked him about sedation dentisty, which he has never told me he did, I have been to him before for a retreatment of a root canal, which was dreadful to have done and he never mentioned sedation to me before or after. But anyway, I cam home with a frozen tooth and no work done. I think it would be smarter if I went to an oral surgeon and just had him remove my three remaining wisdom teeth that all have new decay in them and old fillings. I have had such bad luck with dentist in the past and with a small mouth and a gagger, the thought of going back makes me ill, so thats another reason I am considering an oral surgeon. Any suggestions? Like is this the right think to do and what about being overweight and having sedation denistry.
