Question:
I live in MA and wondering if joining this dental plan (140
dollar/year) makes any sense.
I need to do some fillings and my daughter needs a space maintainer.
I just got one white filling for 130 dollar.
Based on the published fee for the plan it would be 80 dollars.
Have no idea how much the space maintainer costs and how much savings
will be offered!
Do dentisits respect te published rates?
Answer:
Those discount fee "clubs" are awful. They say they have thousands of
providers, but if you actually check the listing for your area, you will
find the same doctor listed 5-10 times. And, 80% of the doctors
participating are in the same office. If you check around, you will
probably find out that this office is not the one you want to go to.
No such thing as a free lunch. You cannot buy any plan as an individual
which will pay you more than the premium dollars you put into it, and you
cannot buy any club membership which gets you huge discounted fees where you
can get the type of work done you desire at the office you want to go to.
Wait. There is., I am invited next Tuesday ........ its a senior
investing seminar ......... if they use the word senior I am planning
on vomiting on them.
